Meet our Speakers:
Joe comes with 10 years of experience designing and consulting IT services. Most recently serving as a Pre-Sales Engineer from Insight with a high focus around on-premise solutions including Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, HPE, Aruba, and Juniper. His time was spent dedicated to enterprise clients throughout the Mid-west and West, designing network and security solutions.
Since joining TBI, Joe has been focused on emerging WAN technologies, along with consulting on best of breed solutions to secure customers whether they are migrating to cloud infrastructure or needing assistance with remote users/locations. Joe has additional attributes around hosted voice, data center, and managed cloud services.
Since 2001 Lorna has been delivering HIPAA/HITECH Privacy and Security training to organizations throughout the U.S, Canada, Africa and in Dubai.
Lorna has delivered training material to both public and private classroom settings. Clients include: University of Utah, Microsoft, Cerner, Ascension Health, Kaiser Permanente, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, The Veterans Administration, SmartHealth, The Longstreet Group, Hewlett Packard, McKesson, The Iowa Hospital Association, State of Iowa, State of Oregon, GHX, Health Alliance, Flex Benefits and many more.
She has been a presenter at events such as; HIMSS Chapters, HIPAA Summit, The Infotec, Conference, Iowa FLEX Conference, Indiana Rural Health Conference, Illinois Critical Access Hospital Conference, and Western Health Alliance. As the Director of Training and Certification, she has worked with clients to comply with HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, PCI DSS, and other security regulations.
Lorna has been involved with HIMSS since 2006 as a board member holding several positions in the Iowa Chapter including President and is now on the National Chapter Task Force she held the Chairperson position last year. Lorna also serves on the HITRUST Marketing Council.
Mark McNeill leads the Healthcare Practice at Tech Guidance, Inc. Telecom Brokerage (TBI). TBI is the largest telecom master agent in the country. Mark is developing vertical markets, including Healthcare. Mr. McNeill has over 15 years of experience in developing and deploying communications, analytics, compliance and collaboration solutions for Healthcare providers. He led Certification for HIPAA Compliance efforts at ISI Telemanagement Solutions. Mr. McNeill is a member of HIMSS as well as the Health Care Compliance Association.

The Iowa Chapter is one of more than 50 regional chapters affiliated with national HIMSS society helping to lead change in the healthcare information and management systems field through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation and community affiliations. The Iowa Chapter is proud to be celebrating its 14th year in promoting professional growth through continuing education and sharing of information in healthcare information technology, quality and safety concerns. Membership can be obtained automatically by becoming a national member of HIMSS or by joining the local chapter.
HIE Interest Group
Health Information Exchange (HIE) has gained increased focus as a key component of health information technology. To best follow the latest trends and developments in HIE, the Iowa HIMSS Chapter has organized an HIE Interest Group.
This group will meet via webinar and is open to all Iowa HIMSS members interested in learning and sharing information about local and national HIE efforts.
Informational Sharing Chapter members are welcome to post opinions, short articles, and/or reviews they felt would benefit the remaining members within our Web site. If you have read something of interest or want to write an opinion piece that would promote our professional development please submit it to one of the HIMSS Board members. The Board will review for possible posting along with the Board minutes and Speaker presentations.
