Karmen Dillon is the Director of Clinical Applications at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, Iowa. President Elect – Bill Coddington
As a Senior Analyst in the Strategic Analytics department at UnityPoint Health, Bill Coddington supports efforts to obtain actionable insight from population health analytics and ACO reporting. Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts in German from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa College of Public Health in Iowa City, IA. Additionally Bill's experience includes conducting health economics research at CoOportunity Health, managing analysis and education efforts for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Physician Quality Reporting System, Hospital Quality Reporting, and EHR Meaningful Use programs while working at Edaptive Systems, and developing strategic plans and analyzing financial and clinical performance at Lurie Children's Hospital.
Past President - Joy Selleck BS, SHIMSS
Joy Selleck is an accomplished professional with an exceptional blend of health information and systems management, project oversight, and computer systems implementation expertise. Her background demonstrates success in leading strategic planning, population health management risk management, quality control, and data analytics initiatives. She is well-versed in electronic records management practices, telemedicine (specifcally tele-psych) program implementation, protocols, and regulatory guidelines with proven experience leveraging technology to enhance operations.
Joy is the Information Systems and Data Analytics Manager with Mercy ACO. Throughout her career she has served as an Electronic health Records Specialist, EPIC HIM Credentialed Trainer and Health Information Management Supervisor. Most recently, Joy has served Iowa HiMSS as the immediate past president in 2016-2017 and Chapter President 2015-2016. Additionally from 2016-2017, Joy served as the Midwest Vice-Chair of Advocacy for HiMSS North Amercia.
She has served Iowa HiMSS as the VP-Program Chair 2012 to 2015 and the Vice Chair of Programs in 2011. She has also served on committees for the Midwest Fall technology Conference and works with IaHIMA (Iowa Health Information Management Association) as the IAHIMA/IA HiMSS Liaison. Joy received her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and graduated with a certificate in Computer Information Systems from The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, MN. Joy is currentyl attending The College of St. Scholastica to further her education by obtaining a joint master’s degree in Health Information Management and Information Technology Leadership.
Secretary - Denise Grafft
Ms. Denise Grafft is an Assistant Director of Clinical Applications at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, Iowa. UI Health Care is a fully integrated academic medical center that includes University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC), UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Physicians. She has 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, involved in direct patient care nursing with experience in the Ambulatory Clinic and Hospital/ICU settings. Throughout her career she has been actively involved in the implementation of EHRs, both in the role of a clinical manager and now in IT. As an Assistant Director in Clinical Applications, she capitalizes on her clinical experience to design and implement workflows across roles and specialties, with a focus on staff cohesion and patient safety in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Treasurer - Nicholas Dreyer
Nicholas Dreyer is a Assistant Director of Clinical Applications at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, Iowa. UI Health Care is a fully integrated academic medical center that includes University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC), UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Physicians. Nick leads a team of developers/analysts in support of UI’s Laboratory Information Systems and has over 12 years of experience in the development and support of Healthcare Information Technology.
Nick earned his Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS). He is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
Vice Treasurer - Cassy Freedman
Cassy Freedman is the Lead Student Intern of Clinical Applications at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, Iowa. UI Health Care is a fully integrated academic medical center that includes University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC), UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Physicians. It has been recognized as a HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 inpatient and ambulatory facility and achieved Hospitals & Health Networks' Most Wired Status annually since 2010. Cassy works with Clinical Applications teams to support the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in various aspects of Healthcare IT.
Cassy is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics and Information Systems with a planned graduation date of May 2017.

Membership/Outreach Chair - Emmanuel (Manny) Acheampong
Manny has over 10 years of experience in the Health Care IT Industry. He has held positions IT as Lead End User Computing and Clinical Informatics Information System Specialist both at Mercy Medical Center. Currently, he is the Information System Coordinator with the Mercy ACO working with rural sites to get patients, provider and billing data to be integrated into Mercy ACO’s Risk & Population Manager Vendor application. Manny is the current IA-HIMSS Membership Chair.
He currently lives in Ankeny with wife and four kids. He loves to volunteer and give back to his community. Manny is past president of the Ghana Association of Iowa and working with other leaders in the African community in Iowa to form an African Association in Iowa. Has a passion for Soccer; he plays, coaches and officiates soccer in the fall and spring. He works with Lutheran Services in Iowa with their refugee resettlement program.

Teresa Franklin is Assistant Director of Clinical Applications at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, Iowa. UI Health Care is a fully integrated academic medical center that includes University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC), UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Physicians. Teresa has over 14 years of experience in the development and support of Healthcare Information Technology, she currently leads a team of developers/analysts in support of UIHC’s nursing and ancillary clinical documentation. Teresa earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from South Dakota State University and has achieved ITIL Foundation Certification in IT Service Management.

Director of Marketing and Communications - Stephen Stewart
Stephen Stewart is currently a Healthcare IT Consultant for TruBridge, recently serving a year as interim Chief Information Officer at a two hospital system in Pennsylvania. Prior to joining TruBridge, for over six years he served as the Chief Information Officer at Henry County Health Center, where he also served as the Compliance Officer and Security Officer. Prior to joining the hospital in 2008, he spent more than 29 years in Health IT, serving primarily as the CIO and or COO of Revenue Cycle firms. Stewart has directed many IT initiatives in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. His IT career has focused heavily on applications, both from a design and implementation perspective. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor in Business Administration in Marketing, Accounting and Economics and a Masters of Business Administration, also from the University of Iowa, focusing on finance. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Fellow of the College of Healthcare Information Executives, a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, Certified in Risk and Information System Controls (CRISC), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA (Information System Audit and Control Association), a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS) from HIMSS and a Fellow of HIMSS. He has authored over thirty articles published in several prominent healthcare periodicals, and has been a frequent speaker on IT, Compliance and Revenue Cycle topics, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and governance. Most recently he has been actively engaged HITECH compliance with meaningful use and ICD 10, frequently speaking on these topics. Stewart is a past president of the Iowa Chapter of HIMSS; served on the CPHIMS Technical Committee, the CHIME Certification Committee; Co-Chair and Chair of the CHIME Fall Forum Planning Committee; CHIME Statenet Board of Directors; CHIME Statenet Patient Matching work group; CHIME Policy Leadership Council; the Iowa E Health Advisory Council and Executive Committee and Iowa Health Information Network (HIE). He has served as a subject matter expert and exam author for both the CHCIO and CPHIMS certification programs. Stewart has worked with the ONC on rural health issues, having testified before the policy committee on Meaningful Use 2, and worked with the VA as a test site on the Blue Button project. He lead HCHC to Meaningful Use 1 (April 2011) and 2 (June 2014) attestations and was deeply involved in ICD-10 preparation having completed the technical remediation required to comply and initiated the internal training required prior to the latest delay.
Advocacy Liaison - Cody Zoss
Cody Zoss currently serves as Mercy Accountable Care Organization’s Compliance Coordinator and previously worked in home healthcare and hospice administration. He received his Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in healthcare management from Drake University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Innovation (MHI) degree from Arizona State University. Cody has volunteered as a regional director for an advocacy organization, where he effectively lobbied for legislation and secured cosponsorships from U.S. Senators.
Health Information Exchange (HIE) Liaison - Susan Brown, MPH, CPHIMS
Susan Brown is Health IT Director for Telligen, a Population Health IT management company in West Des Moines, IA that combines clinical and technical expertise. In her role, Susan leads Iowa’s Health IT Regional Extension Center, which provides technical assistance to over 1,450 primary care providers and 84 critical access and rural hospitals on the meaningful use of certified EHRs. Susan also directs Telligen’s HIT Consulting division, focused on IT and clinical solutions for population health management. This role enables her to help set strategy solutions for the company.
Susan is on the State HIE Advisory Board through IDPH and Chairs the Privacy and Security Work Group. Prior to Telligen, Susan was a Project Manager for Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in northern California for Medical Group Operations. She holds a Masters degree in Health Services Administration from UCLA and an undergraduate Business degree.
Director of Programs - Shirley Gusta
Shirley Gusta is the Director of Business Intelligence at Genesis Health System, in Davenport, Iowa. In this relatively new role, she has managed the transition of a team of analytical and statistical experts into the Business Intelligence Center team, with the mission “To Improve the Quality and Availability of Essential Information”. She has worked in Healthcare Information Technology for over 30 years, at Genesis, and most recently held the positions of IT Manager of Client Services and IT Manager of Application Services. During her career, she has had responsibility for project management, numerous healthcare technology deployments, including EMR implementations within both the Acute and Ambulatory settings and managing the IT customer services teams toward service excellence. At Genesis she serves as a member of the Executive Operations Council, the Leadership Development Institute Committee and represents Genesis on the UIHA Data Management Committee. She has also been a member of the Iowa HIMSS Program Committee since 2012.
Shirley received her BSN from Marycrest College, in Davenport Iowa and is pursuing her Masters in Information Technology Management, at St. Ambrose, University. Shirley resides in Eldridge, Iowa with her husband Ron.

Social Media Chair - Ambrish Sharma
Ambrish Sharma is currently working as a Community Health Specialist with Access Community Health Network in the greater Chicago area. ACCESS provides a continuum of care model that connects patients to health care resources both within and beyond the walls of 36 federally-qualified health centers (FQHCs). The organization is the largest provider of primary care for Medicaid beneficiaries in Illinois and provides more primary care annually than the Cook County Health System.
Ambrish has earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin. He finished three years of medicine from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine, Grand Cayman. Ambrish will be graduating from his Master’s in Health Informatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in August 2017, as well as, his Master’s in Health Administration from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He is passionate about healthcare IT and plans to pursue a career in the same upon graduation.
