Iowa HiMSS Classes available now:

Nursing/Healthcare Informatics Bootcamp

When: September 13, 2016 - September 14 2016

Where: Kirkwood Community College (Rooms A-D of Iowa Hall)

Time: 8:00am to 4:30pm both days

This intensive two-day course focuses on current informatics trends and issues.  It includes content for Registered Nurses who are interested in becoming American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) board certified Informatics Nurses.  Other clinical professionals working in informatics may wish to take the course to become exposed to the course topics.14 hours of continuing education credit will be awarded upon completion of this offering. Full attendance at the program is required. This. program is approved for up to 14.5 continuing education (CE) hours for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS) and the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS).

 

HIPAA Training and Certification

When: September 13, 2016 - September 14 2016

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is about insurance portability, fraud, and administrative simplification.  This Certified HIPAA Professional certification training helps you better understand HIPAA’s Administrative Simplification Act as well as how to create a framework for initiating and working towards a blueprint for HIPAA compliance.
